For many of us, perimenopause & menopause is a time to take stock, and benefit from a physio MOT.
We recommend all women at this stage to have a pelvic health check. We introduced this service in 2016, the feedback from women has been positive and the MOT's are a popular service.
A Menopause MOT will involve the following:
- A medical history check to discuss your general and hormonal health. We will ask you detailed questions about your pelvic floor, bladder and bowel function as well as any issues with sex.
- An assessment of your weekly exercise routine and guidance to make sure you are on track. Taking into consideration bone, hormonal and cardiac health.
- An assessment of your core, abdominals as well as an internal assessment to evaluate your internal pelvic health and check your pelvic floor muscles.
- We will also discuss sleep, decompression from stress and nutrition
Although most women have problems, very few seek help. Luckily there are different solutions and most problems can be helped. Our aim is to come up with a pick & mix of solutions that are optimal for you. This may involve further referral to other women’s health services, like a gynaecologist, nutritionalist or women’s health fitness pro.
You will walk out of your session with exercise advice, a specific pelvic floor muscle training programme designed for you, a better understanding of the benefits and risks of HRT and knowledge of other options available to you.
