Christine is a specialist pelvic & women’s health physiotherapist. She is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment where individuals can regain control and support with symptoms associated with pregnancy, bladder, bowel, prolapse, persistent pain, sex and intimacy.
Her journey into pelvic health began in her mid-20s, prompted by personal challenges such as urinary incontinence, discomfort from tampon use, and pain during sex and intimacy. These experiences not only led her to seek specialised care but also provided her with invaluable insights into the interplay between anxiety, breathing, and pelvic floor dynamics. Inspired by her own experience and those of family members with persistent pain, Christine is committed to addressing often neglected aspects of women's health.
She focuses particularly on conditions like vulvodynia and pain during intimacy, striving to provide care that is empathetic, validating, and responsive to the unique symptoms and concerns of her patients. Christine's practice is trauma-informed, inclusive, and affirming, integrating emotional and physical aspects of health. Her expertise, coupled with her personal journey, positions her as an advocate for those navigating complex pelvic health issues.
Christine creates a therapeutic environment grounded in trust and safety, understanding that successful physiotherapy involves rebuilding confidence in one’s body as much as it does physical healing. She adopts a gentle approach, carefully introducing movements and touch in a way that respects each patient's pace and boundaries, facilitating a gradual rebuilding of trust in their bodily functions.
Christine is a dedicated pelvic health physiotherapist. Her clinical practice is grounded in her extensive academic training, background in contemporary dance, and personal experiences as a neurodivergent individual to offer a uniquely empathetic approach to pelvic health. Her educational background in sports science and physiology and a master's degree in motor learning and control equip her with a thorough understanding of body dynamics. Having lived experience of symptoms associated with bladder, bowel, and sexual health, combined with her understanding of heightened bodily sensitivity from living with OCD, enrich her practice with insights into the physical and emotional complexities of pelvic health.
Her practice not only addresses physical symptoms but also supports patients in overcoming psychological barriers, ensuring a holistic treatment that promotes lasting recovery and well-being. Christine’s commitment to providing compassionate, inclusive, and effective care makes her an excellent choice for individuals seeking to improve their pelvic health in a supportive and understanding environment.
