ARE YOU PREGNANT?

A specially designed Physio women's health assessment to keep you well, healthy and help to manage aches & paings during your pregancy. It will help to prepare you for all types of deliveries, vaginal, C-section and other medical interventions. No matter what birth you may choose or end up having, we can help you to prepare.

Ideally we would like all of you to have a check at 2 important points in your pregnancy, around 20 weeks (ideally following your scan)  and 35 weeks, they are milestone points which are well timed to advice and carry out some perineal measurements that will help us to discuss your best birth choices and wishes.

If you have any pain or discomfort, we can see you at anytime during your pregancy, we can help!

The check includes:

  • An internal assessment of your pelvic floor strength and teach you  how to correctly engage & release. There is strong evidence that shows  that child birth injuries can be reduced if you know how to let go and mobilise your pelvic floor.
  • Teach you how to reduce your risk of prolapse, incontinence and other childbirth injuries.
  • Address and treat a range of conditions you are presenting with throughout your pregnancy- pelvic pain & pelvic girlde pain is common.
  • Discuss birth choices and risks, it is not one size fits all, we prepare you for the best birth choice for you - at 20 weeks and 35 weeks we can make some helpful measurements to guide you
  • Advice on labour including optimal  positions,
  • Understanding the risks and benefits of medical interventions to your pelvic floor
  • How to prepare your body for labour and teach you perineal massage around 35 weeks
  • Take good care of your abdominals whilst your baby is growing.

This check is still relevant if you are  who are having a planned c-section delivery.
