Insights June 2017
We are delighted that Sophie Vohralik is joining us in August. Sophie is a specialised Women’s Health physiotherapist who worked at a leading Women’s Health clinic in Sydney before moving to the UK this summer. We would like to welcome her to our women’s health team!
Also in this newsletter: Our Women’s Health therapist Caitlin Perret recently went on an advanced women’s health course taught by Holly Herman, USA women’s health guru. Caitlin would like to share her three wisdoms which were highlighted on the course:
- Your pelvic floor should be able to do anything at any time. The muscles should be able to contract, relax, and bear down in any position and whether you are breathing in or out, in order to have full control of your pelvic floor.
- You get a much better muscle contraction if you think about moving your back passage (cue ‘controlling wind’ rather than stopping midstream). This is because most of the muscle sits at the back of your pelvis.
- To improve bone condition, the following can help: Vitamins D, E and C, oestrogen (17 beta estradiol), calcium, magnesium and exercise.
Baz Moffat, has four tickets left for her pelvic floor workshop tomorrow, Tuesday 27 June at 8pm, at Third Door in Wandsworth - We highly recommend it!
If you have any questions relating to women’s health issues, don’t hesitate to get in touch; our specialists are happy to talk to you!
Best wishes,
The White Hart Clinic Women's Health Team
